Sugar is causing premature aging, weight gain and cancer!

I don’t care how healthy you are. You have eaten refined sugar (or worse) in some form or another. Don’t lie to me… I know you have!

Sugar is such a problem in our society that it should have restrictions just like, if not stricter, than alcohol. This stuff can be even more addictive than heavy duty street drugs, seriously!

The sweetness that we taste with sugar signals to our brain that what we are eating is packed with dense nutrients (if it was really a whole food that we were tasting). Sweet natural foods (fruits) naturally bloom at a time of year where we would naturally want to have extra energy or put on weight for the long winter that would be coming ahead.

Today we are all mixed up because we can eat many different fruits that are not in season in our area because we have food shipped in from all over the world. So we are throwing these natural cycles of nature off and paying the price for it with our health.

I will tell you that fresh, organic unprocessed fruit that is in the form that is was grown in, from nature (not fruit juice, dried or crystalized), is the healthiest forms of sugar that we can eat. The problem is that we are usually eating it out of season. This can imbalance our body and cause weight gain, blood sugar disturbances, digestive problems and more.

But like I said, whole natural fruit is the healthiest for us! Usually when someone is eating something that is sweet and they are eating the standard American diet (S.A.D.) it is usually not fruit.

Large multinational corporations have found out that sugar and sweeteners are one of the cheapest things to get the general population addicted to. You know what this means, right? Long term customers that usually need more and more of the product from the dealer with total disregard for the effects that it has on their health.

The average American eats over 150 pounds of sugar… a year! Americans eat 33% of the worlds production of refined sugar!

Why is refined sugar so bad?

When we eat foods with sugar we are eating empty calories. That means that there are no real nutrients in the food. Things like vitamins, minerals and fiber are not there. These are actually what makes fruit healthier than refined sugar, just as long as you are eating the whole natural fruit. These nutrients help us to balance and utilize the sugar that is in the fruit.

With refined sugar foods, we are not getting these benefits. Actually, these foods that are made with refined sugar are usually filled with substances that are not good for us. Grains, food colorings, bad fats. Or if they are trying to put on a veneer of health food, they will “Enrich” or “Fortify” the food with artificial vitamins that usually are not too good for you either.

In the post, the 76 dangers of sugar to your health, Dr. Mercola reviews many, many reasons of why to avoid sugar in your diet. From the things that are mentioned here you would think that the FDA would ban this addictive, disease causing substance. Refined sugar is one of the biggest reasons that we are having a health care crisis in the United States. We’re talking about:

  • Adult onset diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Cancer (cancer cells grow from sugar)
  • Heart disease
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Liver problems
  • Kidney problems
  • Immune system problems
  • Inflammation and Pain…

And I am only talking about refined sugar here. I will get into the artificial Sweeteners in another post. Just to let you know how bad they are. If a person is just not going to listen to me about the dangers of artificial Sweeteners, I tell them to eat refined sugar because it is better for them (I hope you just read everything above to realize how bad the artificial ones can be).

I have seen miracles happen with patients of mine who started eating right and removed the refined sugars from their diet. That means not having:

  • Cookies
  • Cake
  • Pie
  • Candy
  • Soda/pop
  • Ice cream
  • Sweetened coffee drinks/tea
  • etc…

I challenge you to do this for two weeks and then start eating sugar again. See how you feel. You will literally feel like you have a hang over or the flu coming on. Seriously, try this and come back and comment below about how good you felt and how much fat you lost around your waist while you cut out all refined sugar for two weeks. And then about how you felt when you ate sugary products again. You will be amazed!

    I stopped eating and drinking products with refined sugar in June 2014. By December 2014 I had gone from 95 kilos to 83 kilos, that’s about a two stone drop in six months. Whatever about all the rest of the stuff avoiding sugary products a great way to loose weight. For me it helped that I had three decent meals every day, including a big breakfast, along with snacks of nuts, an orange and an apple throughout the day and trying not to let the evening meal go too late, thereby getting hungry and eating too much.
